Dissolving physical and mental blockages with the Grinberg Method

Strengthening ourselves psychologically also means facing our emotions, recognizing where they are stored in the body, what patterns we have learned with what physical and psychological effects, and above all, which of them are contrary to our need for clarity, relaxation, and and liveliness.

One way to achieve this is through the Grinberg Method, a bodywork that teaches users to powerfully harness energies from emotional challenges such as fear, anger, disappointment, but also pain through a holistic approach.
The method, conceived by Israeli Avi Grinberg over 30 years ago and now practiced by over 3,000 therapists worldwide, works fundamentally on the mental attitude toward fear and pain. In Grinberg’s eyes, they are the central cause of pathogenic patterns. The method aims at acknowledging them and giving them an attentive space, if you will. Because instead of using the power, we tend to fight emotion like fear and anger and use up a lot of positive energy. If we now learn to also acknowledge demanding emotions, to mindfully let them become a part of us and to let them flow along with us as such, we can also use them to our advantage.

So Grinberg means mindfulness and acceptance. It is a learning process that ultimately empowers users to help themselves from now on. Through exercises, touch and verbal instructions from the therapists, you learn to perceive your body better. In combination with guided deep breathing, one gains the ability to relax tense muscle areas. In everyday life, this leads to the treated person noticing when he or she reacts with stress and tension and how to counteract it!

In this method, learning successes are achieved in a sequence of individual sessions which are preceded by a clearly defined goal together with the therapist. This can be very different whether it is the ending of an unpleasant condition such as tension or exhaustion or recurring life situations associated with undesirable emotional states such as anxiety.

To achieve success, no particular lifestyle is required and the method does not follow any ideological, theological or mystical orientation.
